This spring brought my work to the 56th International Biennale di Venezia, which has been very exciting! My project Mujeres Que Crean/ Women Who Create was featured as part of the exhibition We Must Risk Delight: Twenty Artists from Los Angeles curated by Elizabeta Betinski of BardoLA. The exhibition, which is a collateral exhibition of the Venice Biennial and is in collaboration with the Accademia di Belle Arti, featured an exciting roster of artists; Alexandra Grant, Sherin Guirguis, Amir Fallah, Stas Orlovski, Alexis Zoto, Natasia Prosenc-Stearns, Jameson Carter, Tania Batura, Carole Silverstein, Shizu Saldamando, Rebecca Niederlander, Margaret Griffin, Ben Jackel, and Brandy Eve Allen, Robbie Conal, Tony De Los Reyes, Mark Licari, and Kenturah Davis. The exhibition is being held at the Magazzini del Sale ( a 500 year old salt warehouse where you can still taste the salt on the walls!) is sponsored in part by the Accademia di Belle Arti, one of the oldest art schools in the world, founded in 1750 by Giambattista Piazetta and its first president was none other than Tiepolo.
